Capacity Building Training for Bio-digester Appliances and Accessories Manufacturing Workshops

Biogas Dissemination Scale-Up Programme (NBPE+) is a programme designed for expansion and scaling up of the Ethiopian biogas programme, from the 4 regions (Amhara, Oromia, SNNP and Tigray) to 8 regions, including Afar, Benishangul-Gumez, Gambella and Somali. Private sector is one of the key element in the programme objectives. For faster and sustainable bio-digester market creation in rural Ethiopia, on-going private sector support activities will further intensified at zonal level for potential areas. This appliance and accessories manufacturing training is the expansion of the on-going training for additional metal workshops in Tigray and Oromia regions.

The specific objective of this assignment is to hire competent trainer to capacitate zonal metal workshops to produce biogas burner lotus stove, dome pipe and dung mixer as per programme standard and quality for Tigray region at Maychew , Adigrat and Axum and for Oromia at Jimma, Shashemene, and Nekemte for 36 trainees in total, from 18 workshops.

Job Requirements

The following are pre-requisite for interest applicants.

  •  Must be a legally registered workshop in Ethiopia with minimum 5 years of operation completed.
  •  Must have experience, supported by certificate/letter, in provision of training on development of biogas burner lotus stove and dome pipe or supply biogas burners louts stove and dome pipe to NBPE at regional level or similar assignments completed in Ethiopia.
  •  Must have 2 team members with the minimum qualification and experience, as detailed under ‘The Team Composition’ section, above. Besides, team members must have a mix of experience in machining, welding, foundry work as well as a goods skill of reading and understanding of technical drawings.

If the above “must” criteria are not met, no further evaluation done, meaning the bid disqualifies.
