The Tiger Brands Foundation was established for broad based community impact. The Foundation works for the benefit of non-fee paying schools, vulnerable groups in society as well as projects that promote sustainable livelihoods in the areas in which such non-fee paying schools exist. The Foundation established an in-school breakfast programme to complement the lunch provided by the Department of Basic Education National Schools Nutrition Programme (NSNP). Tiger Brands Foundation works closely with the NSNP team in the selection of schools with strict criteria applied to each school prior to the in-school programme being implemented.
Tiger Brands Foundation seeks to appoint a Regional Coordinator to be based in Bergville KZN working toward improving the lives of rural children through inschool nutrition.
Contract: 1 year Fixed Term contract. Renewable based on funding, performance and need. Package: Market Related, 5 days a week. No performance bonus. Must have a driver’s license and own reliable car, will be expected to travel between home and the respective schools daily, home and the DBE (provincial and district) for monthly meetings. Must live within 30min proximity of the district area (relevant schools on TBF programme) – BERGVILLE KWAZULU NATAL
Duties:
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Planning, implementing and monitoring community development projects
- Performance management of breakfast nutrition programme
- Relationship management with key stakeholders; such as principals; district and provincial officers; service providers; and others
- Daily site visits
- Managing food handlers and school monitors
- Report writing: Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly
- Training
- Quarterly meeting with the district/ provincial office
- Attend meetings and workshops on behalf of the Foundation
- Desktop research
SKILLS
- Strong community development skills and / or experience
- Project Management
- Computer literacy; MS Office
- Ability – Budgets / PowerPoint / Presentations / Report writing
- People – Be able to work at management level right down to community level
- Strong community development skills
- Problem solving
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Prepared to work and travel irregular hours and occasional overtime
QUALIFICATION:
Project Management / Social Science / NGO Project Management / Educators / Social Worker
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in working at school / community development level
