Major Responsibilities

Planning:

·         Engage in the preparation of the annual operation plan of WASH program and manage the planning and review within the designated geographic area of operation in collaboration with APs and CPOs.

 

Implementation:

·         Ensure the implementation of WASH program in compliance with donor’s requirements, WV and government policies and national/global standards.

Supervision, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning:

·         Ensure the program delivery, evaluation and reporting carried out efficiently, rigorously and transparently in compliance with the established guidelines and procedures.

·         Organize for dissemination of new and appropriate technologies to WASH team at different levels.

·         Develop and regularly update a detailed project implementation work plan guiding the project implementation and ensure this is used by the project team to monitor project progress.

Partnership and Integration:

·          Engage in and ensure proper liaison and networking with government, other departments, NGOs, sector forum/fora and respective CPOs and APs.

Reporting and Communication:

·         Guide and ensure the preparation of high quality programmatic and financial reports, for donors and support offices.

Projects Handover, Sustainability and Documentation:

·          Organize handover of completed major water supply projects and major sanitation facilities (VIPLs) to beneficiaries and concerned stakeholders and document for future uses for O&M, evaluation and impact.

·         Follow-up on sustainability of selected major water supply projects.

Capacity Building:

·          Plan, organize and conduct trainings on WASH related programs to relevant staffs and partners.

Human Resources Management:

·          Engage in and ensure that appropriate human resource performance monitoring mechanisms with proper coaching and mentoring are practiced to enhance smooth staff relations and accountability.

Project Proposal Development and Resources Mobilization:

·         Engage in development of project proposals, concept notes, facilitate and handle WASH donors and support offices visits and briefings.

Inclusive Program:

·         Promote major cross cutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peace building and Christian commitment.

Job Requirements

  1. Qualifications Required:

·         Qualification required: M.Sc /B.Sc Degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Hydrogeology, Sanitary Engineering and other related fields.

·         Experience:  7 years for M.Sc and 11 years for B.Sc with minimum of 5 years on relevant project/program management experience in WASH in an international NGO or similar organization;

·         Technical Training qualifications required:  WASH Program Management

·         Other team management exposure and computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Water CAD, AutoCAD, IBM/lotus note).

·         Knowledge and Experience in CLTS-H, SLTS-H, DBC Framework, and PHAST;

·         Appropriate skills and experience in the capacity building and training of staff and partners;

·         Experience in monitoring and evaluation.

·         Experience in proposal development, budget preparation and report writing.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment:  Office-based with some travel to the field
  • Travel:  60% Domestic/international travel is required.
  • On call: 40 %
