Job overview

The Reporting Specialist is responsible for drafting, compiling, editing, and finalizing narrative reports and funding applications. In coordination with the Deputy Director of Programs and the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, they ensure the delivery of accurate, high-quality reports. Under the supervision of the Director of Programs, the Reporting Specialist is responsible for the following tasks and other duties, as assigned:

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting:

▪ Draft and compile narrative progress reports based on inputs from StARS departments.

▪ Review and edit narrative progress reports drafted by StARS Departments and Programs.

▪ Undertake a thorough review of donor reports, correct errors and resolve discrepancies, and thereby support the submission of high-quality narrative reports;

▪ Consult with StARS departments and programs to respond to ad hoc reporting requests;

▪ Confer with StARS departments and programs to respond to questions and concerns from various funders and donors promptly;

▪ Create presentations to communicate reports in visual and written formats using online tools;

▪ In coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, ensure the implementation of effective monitoring & evaluation tools, including noting any changes in surveys or how to calculate data.

▪ Keep up-to-date on all reporting deadlines and ensure timely submission of donor reports in coordination with the relevant StARS departments and units.

▪ In coordination with the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit and other relevant staff, keep detailed and thorough knowledge of all project indicators and reporting templates.

Cross-departmental support:

▪ Provide technical guidance to StARS departments and programs to meet internal reporting requirements and deadlines;

▪ Develop capacity development tools, including training materials and packages.

▪ Train new management staff on report drafting, and provide ongoing training based on needs identified through their reviews of input from StARS Departments.

▪ Assist in identifying and resolving any issues with monitoring and evaluation systems and reporting tools.

▪ Support department directors and coordinators in improving their knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation systems and reporting tools, as well as giving feedback on reports submitted.

▪ Ability to pay close attention to detail.

Working Hours: The Reporting Specialist is expected to be at work for 40 hours per week, between the hours of 9am and 5pm, from Sunday to Thursday. Longer hours, evening and weekend work are sometimes necessary. Work will be conducted both in StARS premises and also in refugee communities and centers.

Supervised by: Director of Programs

Salary: 13,000 EGP/month, rising to 14,000 EGP/month following successful completion three-month probationary period. Plus 4,020 EGP/year Health Coverage and 100 EGP/month Saving Scheme Contribution upon completion of probationary period.

This position is subject to a three-month probationary period, at which time the employee’s performance will be reviewed and probation may be extended.
