About PHE-EC:
PHE Ethiopia Consortium is a national network working to promote Population, Health, and Environment integration through advocacy, capacity building, and partnership. The consortium supports member organizations and partners to achieve sustainable development outcomes across Ethiopia.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and consolidate financial reports in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and cash/bank transactions.
  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial report.
  • Work on budget monitoring, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, filing, and maintenance of financial records.
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing required documents and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines and donor requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, including payroll taxes and withholding.
  • Review and verify payments, procurement documents, and financial support documents.
  • Provide financial guidance to project teams and assist in grant management.
  • Supervise junior accounting or field finance staff as needed.
  • Perform any additional financial activities as needed.
About You

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA or MA degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years (for BA) or 3 years (for MA) of relevant work experience, preferably with NGOs or consortium-based projects.
  • Solid understanding of Ethiopia’s financial laws, taxation, and compliance.
  • Proven experience with donor-funded projects (EU, UN, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Peachtree/Sage, QuickBooks, or other accounting software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • High degree of integrity and attention to detail.
