SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. We began our operations in Ethiopia by opening the First Village in 1974 and provided life-saving provisions such as food, water and health services for a very significant number of children devastated by severe drought and the subsequent famine.

Today, we have grown significantly to meet the persistent challenges that confront Ethiopian children who have lost parental care and are at risk of losing their parental care. Working in close collaboration with international donors, local government and community based organizations across seven program locations; we aspire that every child grows up with love, respect and security.

Why we need you?

We are looking for a Senior Cashier and Accounts Clerk for a maternity cover who will  responsible for receiving payments made to the National Office, depositing cash and cheques received to bank account, effecting cash and cheque payments as per the directives thereon.

As a Senior Cashier and Accounts Clerk, you will be in charge of the following:

  • Checking and receiving payments made to the National Office and providing official receipt
  • Depositing money received by cash and cheque.
  • Preparing payment vouchers for approval of concerned official and preparing cheque for payment.
  • Preparing cash receipt voucher and effecting authorized payments against the signature of the authorized person to receive the payment.
  • Administering petty-cash and ensuring completeness and correctness of supporting documents.
  • Advancing cash for authorized purchases and expenditures,
  • Effecting payment of bills such as telephone, electricity, water, etc. upon approval of the same by concerned official.
  • Paying salary according to the payroll prepared.
  • Ensuring security of cash and cheque pad, printed receipts and other cash documents
  • Maintaining petty cash fund and replenishing fund against proper payment vouchers.
  • Maintaining record of amounts received and paid, reconciling cash at hand with recorded balance.
  • Compiling and submitting daily receipts and payments
