The Opportunity:

The Field officer will provide programmatic, administrative and other logistical support to the Social Entrepreneurship Incubator for Economic Empowerment project in achieving its goals in line with Plan policies and guidelines to address women and youth’s socio-economic challenges in Upper Egypt, the disempowerment of women and youth age 18-35 years, the lack of capacity of CSOs and the poor collaboration between Local Authorities and CSOs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for follow up the project implementation plans, overseeing project implementation and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provides supervision, technical support and guidance to the project partners and CSOs.
  • Responsible for producing project progress reports aligned with donor requirements, monitoring activity progress in the field and provide accurate and timely status reports and support development of external donor reports.
  •  Monitors financial spending for the project – both for Plan and implementing partners on the governorate level.
  • Supports the coordination of all activities of the target beneficiaries and Civil Society Organizations.
  • Provide partners and CSOs with technical and capacity support.
  • He/she will also be responsible for supporting the development of project implementation plans and ensure effective coordination and team work.
  • Facilitates regular collaborative partner and other staff reflection and coordination meetings and to ensure effective implementation of project activities as per the set timelines and develop mechanism for implementation plan review and modification to achieve the set objectives.
  • Works together with Plan staff, NGO partner, CSOs and other technical partner/s in developing activity plans, reports, and other implementation and monitoring tasks, as required.
  • Represents Plan in a “front-line” role, effectively and efficiently communicating the project’s objectives, activities and methodology to project stakeholders.
  • Assists the Project manager with the preparation of plans and reports and other administrative tasks, as required.

In order to succeed in this challenging and varied role you will require proven professional experience gained, especially working with Socio economic programs, preferably focusing on enterprenurship.

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role’s Objectives:  

Knowledge and experience:

  • Bachelor degree in development, business studies, social science, economics, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in development and/or humanitarian organizations.
  • Expertise in income generation, Social Enterprises (SEs), Social entrepreneurship, social incubators, poverty alleviation, livelihood development, and social inclusion will be an asset.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including the design and management of effective trainings, workshops and meetings with a diverse population is desirable.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work effectively with people of different cultural contexts.
  • Effective team player, able to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Flexible, creative and problem solving-oriented.
  • Competence with MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Skills:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic and ability to effectively write reports.
  • Proven skills in effective coordination, mentorship and working in multi-stakeholder collaborative environment.
  • Problem solving, team working, conflict resolution, strong communication and planning skills.
