The National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders (NICRO), is a national non-governmental organisation that provides comprehensive crime prevention services. NICRO is the main provider of diversion services for children in South Africa, providing diversion services since 1992.

NICRO seeks to appoint a Social Worker Supervisor, to be based in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and management services to Social Workers and administrative staff
  • Supervise social service professionals (SW) in the provision of direct social work services to clients
  • Direct services to clients on a daily operational basis and ensure service quality through the supervision process
  • Establish and maintain professional trusting, relationships with other professionals, social workers, client groups and communities and other stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Current registration with SACSSP minimum five years’ experience of Supervision practice essential
  • Knowledge and experience of the principles and practices of social work profession
  • Ability to write reports, project plans, business plans, and business correspondence
  • Networking and communications skills
  • Understanding of Restorative Justice processes
  • Continuous personal and professional development
  • Drivers’ license
  • Computer skills
