DMT Consult™ is a leading gender-focused and SRH consultancy firm focused to undertaking gender assessments, gender audits, project evaluations and providing capacity building trainings to international NGOs, government departments, UN agencies and local NGOs in areas of gender mainstreaming, gender responsive planning and budgeting in the agriculture, nutrition, WASH, health and other development interventions in Malawi and other countries. The firm develops manuals and packs for use in gender mainstreaming, Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB), Gender Based Violence (GBV) trainings, gender policy development and other staff capacity building trainings.

DMT Consult has upcoming and anticipated assignments with a number of clients/partners and intends to hire committed and dynamic persons for the Statistician part-time position (based in Lilongwe). All positions are contingent on award of contracts and are on short-term basis:

Duties and Responsibilities

Understand the scope of the consultancy assignment and ascertain qualitative and quantitative Outcomes of Interest.

Design questionnaire/tools in ODK/Kobo and other digital data devices.

Design database/data entry shell

Conduct data cleaning, analysis, triangulation and interpretation and eventual extrapolation of findings and results.

Take part in the training of enumerators and run pre-testing data for primary analysis

Participate in reports writing (inception report, survey reports etc.)

Qualifications and Attributes

First degree or higher in Statistics, Demography, Social Sciences or other disciplines with strong statistical knowledge and experience.

Knowledge of Statistical databases/packages such as SPSS, STATA, Epi info, Atlas. Ti and others is a must.

Ability to train and mentor others very desirable.
