The Carter Center country office in Ethiopia, which assists the Government of Ethiopia in Disease Elimination and Eradication Programs, is looking for a qualified professional to fill the following vacancy for its health programs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Orders, receives, stocks and issues of materials and equipment with proper documentation.
  • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.
  • Inspect deliveries in light with specification, check for damage or discrepancies and report those to relevant unit for corrections.
  • Enters and retrieves data and reports from a computerized inventory control system.
  • Tracks material usage and establishes reorder points; Reconciles order quantities with inventory records and submit monthly and periodic reports as required
  • Keeps records of items shipped, received, or transferred to another location.
  • Maintains proper, complete and accurate records with bin and stock cards; Ensures safe keeping, both as to quality and quantity of materials.
  • Initiates purchase requisitions for stock replacement of all regularly stored items whenever stock level of any item in store approaches minimum limit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Number: One

Terms of Employment: One-year contract with a possibility of extension.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

  • Diploma or Degree in supplies management or related fields
  • Minimum of four years relevant work experience as a store keeper

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of proper documentation and inventory management
  • Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in store management.
  • Analytical mind with ability to use computer basic applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
  • Organized, attention to detail and ability on effective time management.
  • Recommendation letter from the most recent employer
  • Able to present release letter from current employer in two weeks after job offer
  • Previous NGO experience is a plus
