CAAMRIS seeks a Team Leader/Senior Market Research Expert to conduct market research that will enable USAID/Kenya and East Africa (KEA)/Office of Economic Growth and Integration (OEGI) to understand the landscape of available and viable local and regional entities capable of implementing its activities in Kenya and the East Africa region. The findings and recommendations emanating from the research will inform USAID/KEA/OEGI’s future designs and procurements. The market research will involve identifying Kenyan and regional entities with the experience and capacity to implement activities in the following USAID/KEA/OEGI focus areas: agriculture, nutrition, resilience, WASH, trade and investment, and energy.

* Lead meetings, coordinate and gather different points of view of members of the team, draft initial documents with conclusions and recommendations, and prepare the final report, presentations, and database.
* Lead the drafting of the inception report, including the work plan/schedule.
* Provide bi-weekly updates on the progress of the research. The update shall focus on the entities already in the database, entities identified for interviews, entities interviewed, and entities that qualify/meet criteria of entities USAID can work with.
* Present a summary of the market research to the Mission and facilitate a discussion to highlight key findings and clarify and resolve any questions and challenges.
* Submit the final report that includes findings, conclusions, and associated recommendations, and the final database/Excel database and related metadata and code books to the Mission.
* At least ten years of experience in undertaking market research in any of the areas related to agriculture, nutrition, resilience, WASH, trade and investment, and energy.
* A master’s degree in any of the areas related to business administration, marketing, agribusiness, research methodology, monitoring and evaluation, or a relevant social science field.
* Good negotiation and leadership skills and is capable of dealing with sensitive company information.
* Contacts with entities of focus, such as governments, universities, private sector associations, research institutions, NGOs, and CSOs, etc., to ease the setting up of meetings and interviews with these entities, is desirable.
* Experience working in the East African Region.
* Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
* Excellent communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills.
