Overview

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is seeking a Technical Director for a potential 5 year, USAID-funded, Health Service Delivery Activity in Niger. This project will will improve access to quality health services and strengthening ownership and management of health services by communities, in partnership with citizens, local government, and service providers.

This position is subject to project award and funding.

Specific Responsibilities

The Technical Director is responsible for the following:

  1. Technical leadership, oversight and management the technical aspects of the project’s scope of work, and ensure effective and timely implementation of the project.
  2. Design and implementation of technical activities to strengthen MNCH, FP/SRH, nutrition, and WASH services and ensure technical staff apply national and internationally accepted technical norms and standards and best practices for timely delivery of high quality services.
  3. Support the Chief of Party in the design, roll-out, and day-to-day management and implementation of interventions.
  4. Collaborate and provide technical support to stakeholders on various levels to ensure program outcomes are achieved including MOH, private sector and other implementing partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Advanced degree in public health, nursing, midwifery or other clinical training.
  2. Minimum 7 years of senior-level experience managing MNCH, FP/SRH, nutrition, and WASH services with demonstrated success in achieving results. USAID experience required.
  3. Familiarity with the structure, systems and policies of the health sector in Niger.
