Proposal Summary:

USAID/Sahel intends to issue the five-year Resilient Governance in Niger (RGN) project intended to serve as the leading governance activity of the USAIDs Resilience in the Sahel – Enhanced II (RISE II) program. The RGN project is intended to address core local governance deficits impeding service delivery, community resilience and citizen accountability activities. The project will also address ways to prevent citizens increased vulnerability to violent extremism. The project scheduled to begin implementation in February 2020.

Position Summary:

MSI is currently seeking applications from qualified candidates for potential long-term and short-term technical staff positions for the anticipated USAID-funded Nigerian Resilient Governance (RGN) activity. These positions will be based in Niamey, Maradi and Zinder as needed.

**Please Note: Nigerien candidates are encouraged to apply. Regional nationals will also be considered.

Seeking long-term and short-term technical experts with at least five years of experience in one or more of the following technical areas:

  • Public Policy Reform
  • Local governance strengthening
  • Participatory planning
  • Participatory action research
  • Conflict Analysis
  • Civil Society Strengthening
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
  • Gender Equality and Youth Inclusion
  • Finance and Administration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree (preferred) in public administration, political science, business administration, sociology, geography, economics, or related field of study required.
  • Familiarity with collaborative learning contexts preferred.
  • USAID or other donor project experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with the political, social, cultural, and security context of rural Niger.
  • Experience working in Niger or the region is desirable.
  • Fluency in French with excellent written and oral communications skills; familiarity with English a plus.
