Job Summary

The WASH Business Development Coordinator will work on catalyzing the WASH market under the direct supervision of WASH business development manager with matrix reporting. S/he is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and promotional activities, campaigns, lead and catalyze the market opportunity for established WASH business centers by liaising the private and government stakeholders in the sector in the WASH business value cahin.

S/he will be responsible for proper implementation of evidence based WASH Business programs in the project area with other team members engaged in the SCH/STH Transmission Break Project.

Major Responsibilities:

·       Ensure that the Business Development delivery, evaluation and reporting carried out efficiently, rigorously and transparently in compliance with the established guidelines and procedures.

·       Engage proper liaison and networking with local government, NGOs, Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and other partners for the WASH Business development, support and financing at regional, zonal and woreda level

·       Lease WASH Product and service design, prototype test, development, launch and appropriate marketing strategy implementation.

·       Timely execution of successful marketing activities, campaigns and/or events to raise product and service awareness with quality coverage

·       Monitor WASH marketing activities according to the M&E framework, and assess whether are achieving desired goals.

·       Support the business development manager in overseeing the operations & contributing to the new business ideas and marketing strategies implementation

·       Engage in reviewing activity vs. budget plan in quarter, biannual and annual basis to monitor the activity progress and budget utilization.

·       Plan, facilitate and conduct trainings on WASH Marketing & business development related programs to relevant staffs, partners & stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Qualification required: BA in Economics/Business Administration, Marketing management, environmental health science or  other related fields;
  • Experience:  3 years for Masters/ 5  years for Bachelors in Business Development
  • Other: Prior experience on WASH marketing is mandatory

·       Demonstrate experience providing business development and capacity strengthening services to small and medium scale enterprises

·       Experience in the design, development and launch of new products and the delivery of product marketing campaigns;

·       Experience in the use of market-based approaches to deliver goods and services to the rural poor

·       Experience using innovative market research and product design techniques, to develop and design products for rural market

·       Experience in social marketing and behavior change marketing campaigns

·       Knowledge of or interest in humanitarian programs, as well as a commitment to WV mission, vision and core values;
