LOCATION; BEREA, MASERU, MAFETENG, MOHALE’S HOEK AND QHTHING

Purpose of the Position

To serve as the lead role in implementing all project activities at the district and community levels. The WOs will be responsible for ensuring high quality, result-oriented program implementation and timely achievement of project milestones and objectives in each district. The WOs will play a key role in establishing and maintaining good working relationships at the community and district levels.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct implementation of project activities

The WF will lead coordination of all project activities at the district level. This primarily entails hygiene and promotion activities in schools.

Coordinate directly with local stakeholders to ensure activity roll-out.

The position will provide direct coordination with selected schools to build student knowledge of WASH.

Maintain working relationships with stakeholders

Play key role in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with the district MoET, RWS, and other stakeholders.

Liaise with district and cluster officials, community leaders & other stakeholders in coordinating WASH activities

Lead / support capacity building of Teachers, School Committees, Parents and other stakeholders

Lead and participate in training, coaching and mentorship of communities leaders at supported sites.

Provide direct oversight and support for the training of community leaders and members for direct roll-out of activities

Support monitoring and evaluation to ensure targets are met

Assist in monitoring and evaluation and ensuring quality assurance of activities;

Support with data collection activities such as baseline, routine monitoring, endline assessment.

Manage reports and ensure donor deliverables are met

Ensure timely preparation of work plans, budget requests and technical project performance reports and participate in the weekly and monthly project performance review meetings.

Submit timely project reports from district level to project manager.

Knowledge management:

Apply basic programme management approaches (develop work plans, monitor, execute and report on work plans)

Facilitate learning from monitoring and evaluation processes

Facilitate proper management of knowledge through WV and donor systems.

Education, knowledge & skills, licenses preferred, and all experiences required to perform this position in a fully competent manner

One plus years in a community facilitator role. Experience with and knowledge of WASH programming preferred;

Demonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating training, mentorship and capacity building of community leaders;

Experience coordinating trainings, community activities and logistics at the field level;

Knowledge of UNICEF reporting requirements including familiarity with the data collection and reporting tools and added advantage;

Direct experience implementing WASH programming is an added advantage;

Fluency in Sesotho and English are required

Proficiency in computer basic skills- MS Office; Internet; Basic data analysis skills;

Self- managed, self-driven, results oriented individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, report writing and analytical skills;

Dedicated team player with ability and experience to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position

1. Three plus years in a community facilitator role. Experience with and knowledge of WASH programming preferred

2. Degree in Social Sciences or nay other relevant degrees in community planning, development and behavioural change

Additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.

Direct experience implementing WASH programming is a district advantage.
