Solidarités International is an international humanitarian organization which provides aid and assistance to victims of war or natural disaster. For almost 35 years the association has focused on meeting three vital needs – water, food and shelter – by carrying out emergency programmes followed by longer-term reconstruction projects. Whilst fully respecting the assisted populations’ customs and culture, Solidarités International’s programmes are implemented through the joint expertise of around 200 expatriates and 1500 local managerial staff and employees. Solidarités International is currently present in Africa (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Sierra Leone (Ebola response), Somalia, South Sudan), in Asia (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar (Burma), the Philippines and Thailand), in the Middle East (Syria and Lebanon) and in Haiti.

Country Director  

To support our coordination team in Nairobi who is preparing to address these profoundly alarming issues, we are looking for a country director to lead our team through the strategic exercise coming up.

The Country Director will also be focal point for designing a regional strategy and will regularly liaise with our Country Directors from the sub region (South Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, DRC…)

YOUR PROFILE

  • Extensive humanitarian experience
  • Experience in remote management is key
  • At least two years’ experience at a similar position
  • Good understanding of WASH and FSL projects
  • Spoken and written English and French are mandatory
