WSUP is a non-profit partnership between the private sector, NGOs and research institutions focused on solving the global problem of inadequate water and sanitation in low-income urban communities. WSUP brings lasting solutions to low-income areas by working in partnership with service providers, including water utilities, local authorities and businesses, and the communities they serve. WSUP strengthens the capacity of service providers to deliver sustainable city-wide water and sanitation services, promote good hygiene and raise the environmental standards of low-income communities.

The Programme Engineer will support the WSUP programme in Zambia, which comprises of the promotion, implementation and monitoring of water and sanitation services in low-income areas of Lusaka.

They are expected to be self-motivated, to work without supervision and to take full responsibility for their work scheduling, professional conduct and outputs. The nature of the WSUP programme is such that extra hours and weekend work may be required from time to time, without increase in remuneration.

Main responsibilities include project management, guidance on engineering, contract and financial management, reporting and stakeholder relationship development.
