Description
Concern Kenya Country programme engages in long term development work, building resilience, responding to emergency situations, and seeking to address the root causes of poverty through our development, education and advocacy work. The Country programme has a vast experience in implementation of programs adopting an integrated approach with a view to building community resilience.
This role will assist to improve the quality of monitoring and evaluation in Country programming in Kenya which includes Health & Nutrition, Governance, Education and Livelihoods.
The Country Programme is currently implementing Health and Nutrition, Livelihoods, Education and Governance projects in Marsabit and Nairobi Counties through working with vulnerable communities and local partners to meet the needs of the poor. The Country programme is currently extending its operation to Turkana and Tana River Counties to implement Health and Nutrition and Livelihoods Projects. Concern has strong partnerships and has collaborated with various national institutions and relevant departments of the County and National government since 2011, employing a Systems strengthening approach as well as working with communities through a “community conversations” approach; Concern Kenya continues to support emergency preparedness initiatives as well as delivering effective emergency responses in the counties of operation.
Volunteer Allowance:
In line with EU Aid Volunteer daily allowances:
• Whilst in Dublin €667.79 per month
• Whilst in Kenya €325.54 per month
Accommodation:
Accommodation in Dublin whilst on apprenticeship and when deployed in Kenya
will be provided by Concern.
At the end of volunteer placement an allowance of €100 per completed month of deployment will be provided as a resettlement allowance
