Job Summary
The incumbent will work on the implementation of different PPI projects in addition to the design of new ones. The Project Coordinator will be based in Cairo office with frequent travel to the field (primarily Upper Egypt governorates). The Project Coordinator, supervised by the Egypt Country Manager, will have four main tasks under four different functional areas: i) Support project implementation, ii) Reporting and visibility, iii) Partnerships and iv) Program development. Specifically, the incumbent will be required to carry out the following tasks
1/ Support project implementation
Support PPI Programming team on various projects as needed including:
- Conduct field visits to work with the partners on the implementation project activities.
- Attend training sessions delivered by the partners staff members and participate in selecting training consultants,
- Engage in discussions with the project management team, technical experts, and the partner management on ways forward based on his/her field observations.
- Support meetings in order to maintain project administration and filing systems, including minutes, mailing, printing and copying.
- Assist in both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods used for conducting needs assessment, desk review, market assessment, and evaluations.
- Any other reasonable tasks requested by the Country Manager in support of attaining project objectives.
2/ Reporting & Visibility
- Assist in producing project progress and final reports and any other requested donors reports
- Support all communication and visibility materials which include but are not limited to; quarterly newsletter, short films, project information sheets/ brochures, progress updates on social media and final project toolkits that can be disseminated to the stakeholders in the closure event.
- Represent the MENA region in the Communications task force meeting and coordinate associated activities
- Ensure that all projects in the Egypt office have up to date project references, project brochures and other documents on the network drive as per the guidelines in the PM Handbook.
- Coordinate with PPI Egypt Finance team on budget monitoring and project financial reporting.
- Document the project results, achievements, success stories and lessons learned from the project implementation process using PPI or funder guidelines
- Any other reasonable reporting tasks requested by the country manager
3/ Partnerships
- Working closely with Partner staff who co-implement different projects providing support, and filling gaps as needed
- When required, the project coordinator will provide written and/ or oral translation of English to Arabic and Arabic to English
- Assist in planning meetings with projects partner, setting agendas, defining outputs and monitoring their activities in the field. This includes supporting the compliance and financial monitoring in coordination with Egypt’s Financial staff. Work with partners to find solutions and methodologies to overcome project challenges.
- Advise the management about partner/field issues affecting projects implementation, or key local issues affecting future project developments.
- Support the capacity building of local partners With the Project Manager and Senior staff.
- Any other reasonable tasks requested by the country manager
4/ Programme development
- Participate in mobilising funds for new projects and interventions by: 1/Supporting in preparing the related concept papers and proposals, 2/ Drawing up and updating a map of donors and stakeholders in Egypt for fund raising purposes and future project networking
- Participate and support the MENA team on development activities
- Mobilise and suggest local actors for inclusion in new projects, and maintain external relationships that will be beneficial to the project
- Support background research activities for PPI Egypt Road Map and specific project proposals
- Coordinate with HQ on maintaining Egypt office CVs, references and other documents needed in the development process
- Any other reasonable tasks requested by the Country Manager
• Academic degree in Economics/Finance, Development, Management or Business Administration. • A minimum of 3 years of project implementation experience including monitoring and evaluation basics. Experience with public donors projects is an advantage. • Proven financial, administrative and logistical skills. • Advanced skills in proposal writing, fund raising and donor relations (desired). • Excellent report writing and communication skills, with fluency in English and Arabic required, French is a plus. • Excellent command of Excel, PowerPoint and Word • Ability to work independently and to remain flexible, adaptable and reliable. • Willingness to travel within Egypt governorates (up to 50% of his/her time). • Ability to build effective and fruitful relationships with partners
