JobStarter is an information and mobile learning platform that connects entry level jobseekers to employers and opportunities. Our free mobile learning is designed to help young people get ready for the world of work. After completing our learning, potential candidates will be entered into our database that employers will use to find entry level candidates for work or work experience opportunities. JobStarter also provides information to help young people navigate their next steps whether it’s looking for work or study opportunities, or discovering more about the job market, learnerships, bursaries, tertiary education options and getting a matric. JobStarter was established in 2016 as a non-profit company.JobStarter is a non-profit company set up to assist entry level job seekers and job providers find each other efficiently and effectively through online and mobile platforms. JobStarter filters and raises the competency of entry level jobseekers according to general employer requirements through compulsory online and mobile learning (E-learning). This improves effectiveness and efficiency in entry level job recruitment by allowing employers to search only for pre-scored candidates that meet foundational requirements (numeracy, communication and workplace understanding) as determined by the e-learning, thus reducing the quantities of irrelevant CVs and applications while improving the quality of candidates. JobStarter similarly improves the entry level job seeking process by overcoming barriers created by transport costs, geographic location and lack of information networks by assisting jobseekers to be better informed and to make connections with employers through digital means.
