Description of task
Under the supervision of the Deputy Resident Representative (DRR), the UN Volunteer will be responsible for the following duties:
- Support the recruitment process of SC/SSA and general services staff;
- Advise the DRR/O on extensions FT/SC/SSA contracts and take appropriate action;
- Support the Administration of personnel entitlements, allowances, benefits;
- Provide advice to DRR on utilization of staffing resources;
- Assess training needs of personnel;
- Update personnel lists, both national and international;
- Assist international personnel with leave requests, LP renewal, visa extension;
- Support the management of staff and SC holder personnel Files (submission of monthly attendance sheets, submission of separation documents);
- Supervise staff, as required;
- Ensure that specific expected outputs on achievements towards volunteerism for development are mentioned on UNV/UNDP descriptions of assignment;
- Perform other related duties, as required;
- Maintain a roster for staff and SC holders;
Manage the induction of new staff and SC holders.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent

Education – Additional Comments: Master degree with experience and training/courses in one or more of the following disciplines: human resource management, public administration, industrial psychology or other related field.
Required experience: 36 Months
Experience remark:
- Training and/or experience utilising computers, including word processing and spreadsheets;
- General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations, and procedures governing human resources administration is an asset;
- Analytical ability; skill in developing sources for data collection;
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to work in a multicultural team environment;
- Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds;
- Sound security awareness;
Have affinity with or interest in working in developing countries, humanitarian relief, post-conflict situations, volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System
Language skills:
- English(Mandatory), Level – Fluent
- French(Mandatory), Level – Fluent
