Amref Health Africa, headquartered in Kenya, is the largest Africa based international non-governmental organization (NGO) currently running programs in over 35 countries in Africa with lessons learnt over 60 years of engagement with governments, communities and partners to increase sustainable health access in Africa. Amref Health Africa also incorporates programme development, fundraising, partnership, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, and has offices in Europe and North America as well as subsidiaries; Amref Flying Doctors, Amref Enterprises and the Amref International University. Amref Health Africa has been active in Ethiopia since the 1960s and became fully operational as an international NGO in 2002.
Amref Health Africa is recruiting a Project Assistant to be based in Afar. S/he will report to the Project Manager.
Purpose of the Job:
Assisting the efficient and effective implementation of the Project
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop implement work plan
- Develop TOR /adopt relevant material to support field activities
- Plan, implement and maintain record on field activities
- Facilitate training, Discussing and meeting, DQSA, community conversation, religious leader ( IMAM)meeting, mobile and outreach session
- monitor and report on relevant activities and impact
- Submit monthly and quarterly complete, consistent, accurate and valid ODK and narrative report to project coordinator / manager timely.
- Fill ERP during each activities implementation expenses and advance settlement through computer based
- Laisse with relevant partners , stakeholder and collaborators of activity level
- Undertake other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Clinical Nurse / Midwife with Diploma holder who has an experience in EPI for 1-3years
- Committed /willingness to work in hard to reach area in Afar region
- Experienced in computer , excel, word , Power point and e mail communication mandatory
- Excellent report writing in English mandatory
- Local language ( Afari) -advantageous
- Positive attitude and team work experience -advantageous
Terms of employment: 9 months with possible extension
