REPSSI (Regional Psychosocial Support Initiative) is a non-profit organisation working to lessen the devastating social and emotional (psychosocial) impact of poverty, conflict, HIV and AIDS among children and youth across East and Southern Africa. We currently work in 13 countries in East and Southern Africa: Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe Our assistance includes providing easy-to-use and culturally appropriate tools, and sharing innovative approaches. We train partners to provide social and emotional services to children and their communities, and we produce activities and tools that can be used with children, youth, communities and families.

Our Key Achievements •More than 3 million children now have access to psychosocial care through REPSSI partners in 2000 project sites across the region •REPSSI has firmly placed psychosocial support on the social development agenda at international, regional and national levels •A comprehensive body of PSS knowledge has been researched, developed, tested, and packaged for appropriate audiences •The Certificate Course in Community-Based Work with Children and Youth is the first PSS accreditation of its kind •A pool of regional psychosocial expertise has been developed through REPSSI training.
