The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a highly talented, energetic, and self-motivated Agricultural Economist Graduate Intern who will be located in Kampala, Uganda.

About CIP

CIP is a member of the One CGIAR, a global research partnership for a food-secure future. One CGIAR science is dedicated to transforming food, land, and water systems in a climate crisis, and it is carried out by 13 CGIAR Centers/Alliances in close collaboration with hundreds of partners, including national and regional research institutes, civil society organizations, academia, development organizations and the private sector.

The Position:

The Agricultural Economist Graduate Intern will provide support in updating the sweet potato Dashboard.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support in review of project documents to extract important sweet potato indicators
  • Support in the analysis of data and computation of important sweet potato indicators
  • Support in the documentation process of the indicators and preparation of the sweet potato dashboard

Selection Criteria

  • Master’s student (should have completed course work) of the following-Agriculture Economics, Agribusiness, Agricultural and Applied Economics, Rural Development or related.
  • Experience in conducting surveys, data analysis and report writing.
  • Excellent knowledge in use of statistical tools e.g STATA, SPSS, ENVIVO, R.
  • Good command of English language and communication skills.
  • Good report writing skills.
