Key Objectives:

a. Review and develop a clear Economic Empowerment (EE)programme framework for the following:

  • Supporting business startups with start-up kits, skills for business (includes business registration), and entrepreneurship.
  • Promoting Youth Not in Education Employment or Training (NEET) & Women empowerment through market-relevant education, vocational and technical training, and financial literacy.
  • Promoting agribusiness (cooperatives) and SMEs
  • Social enterprise especially for Early Care centers.

b. To lead development and writing of funding proposals for EE programme.

c. To lead in the establishment of partnerships for the EE programme to strengthen the organisations ecosystem.

Project Deliverables:

  1. Economic Empowerment programme framework document with activity plan (with clear timelines) and budget.
  2. Design and develop EE programme activities material.
  3. Project proposals depending on identified opportunities
  4. Mapping of potential funding and partnership opportunities.

Stakeholders

  1. Internal (ForAfrika SA_Senior Management Team, Technical Team)
  2. External (South Africa Government, Business & CSOs)

  1. South Africa National Development Plan 2030
  2. ForAfrika Strategy Document

Milestones:

  1. Strategy and activity plan complete by end of Q1.
  2. Design and develop EE programme activities material by end of Q3
  3. Established partnerships with formal agreements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in enterprise development or associated fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Economics, Business, preferably working in the development space.
  • Has established relations with business, government and other Civil Society organizations.
  • Proven track record of successful enterprise development projects
  • Knowledge of South African economic, social and development context landscape
  • Strong proposal writing skills, planning programme designing and coordinating skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong project management and implementation skills
  • A commitment to and understanding of participatory approaches to development**.**
