Seefar, in collaboration with local stakeholders including educators, parents, influencers and young filmmakers, is leading an initiative in Morocco to raise awareness among teenagers aged 13 to 18 of the risks posed by irregular migration. To support this effort, Seefar is looking for an Independent Monitoring Officer based in or around Tanger, Morocco.

The Independent Monitoring Officer (IMO) is expected to measure the immediate project impact on a biweekly basis and also get directly involved in the project evaluation.

To apply you must have at least 3 years of experience. Fluency in Moroccan Arabic is required, as is a working proficiency in written and spoken French or English.

Position terms

This is a part time (30h a week), 9 month position. Although most of the work can be carried out remotely, you may need to participate in some in-person tasks around the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (team training for example).

Approximate start date: 18 November 2024

Fee: EUR 700 monthly as well as 50 EUR to cover communication and travel expenses.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that they are able to receive EUR payments from overseas prior to applying for this role.

Selection Criteria

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in administering quantitative surveys
  • Computer literacy and access to the internet and laptop or electronic device.
  • Substantive community-based work experience
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Job Description

The following are the primary responsibilities of the role.

Deliver: Project and Mission Implementation

  • Participate in the training prior to the assignment taking place, and learn about the project and how to do your work.
  • Conduct surveys over the phone with project beneficiaries according to the methodology in your work plan.
  • Translate M&E tools and templates, as and when required.
  • Contribute to the project learning reports.
  • Participate in the Endline Evaluation.
  • Feedback observations on the process, and share any concerns with its implementation, especially regarding factors that might affect the reliability of data.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with your supervisor and be available for meetings.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your work. In addition, recognizing that this is a quality control process, maintaining appropriate boundaries between yourself and staff working for Seefar Foundation as Counsellors.
