inSupply Health is headquartered in Nairobi, with an office in Dar es Salaam, and is affiliated with JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI). Our team of dynamic local consultants works closely with public and private sector clients to design optimized, responsive, and resilient supply chain systems that deliver essential health products such as antimalarial and HIV medications, vaccines, and contraceptives in complex settings. We pioneer innovative approaches by taking proven methodologies from the commercial sector and adapting them to the context. We also co-create solutions with our clients so they can own, implement, and continuously improve their systems independently in the long term.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a Senior Analyst Supply Chain Transformation to join our dynamic team based in Dar es Salaam. This role involves providing technical and analytical support in the implementation of supply chain transformation projects across Tanzania and the region. The successful candidate will work under the direction of project managers and supply chain teams to deliver transformative supply chain solutions.
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate should be a self-driven, highly motivated professional with a passion for supply chain transformation. They will have a solid background in data analysis, project execution, and stakeholder engagement, particularly in the health sector. With a solution-oriented mindset, they should be adept at coordinating multiple tasks, working collaboratively with diverse teams, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. He/she should have and an understanding of health supply chain systems and challenges in low- and middle-income countries and have a track record of driving health supply chain process improvements and implementing innovative solutions to improve efficiency and outcomes
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
The candidate will work closely with project managers to develop comprehensive work plans, breaking down project activities into detailed tasks with clear timelines and deliverables. They will be responsible for tracking progress against these plans, ensuring that all activities are completed on schedule and within budget. The candidate will participate in regular technical calls and meetings, documenting key action points and following up on next steps to maintain momentum across projects. - Stakeholder Engagement:
The candidate will engage with key stakeholders, including Ministry of Health (MoH) officials, donors, NGOs, and regional/local government entities, ensuring that all parties are aligned with the project objectives. They will actively participate in stakeholder meetings, provide detailed updates, and ensure all feedback is integrated into project execution. Building and maintaining these relationships will be critical to the success of the supply chain transformation initiatives. - Data Management and Reporting:
The candidate will play a key role in data collection, analysis, and reporting. They will ensure that all project data is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible. This includes overseeing data entry, cleaning, and validation processes. The candidate will use data to generate comprehensive reports for internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders, with insights that drive strategic decisions. Proficiency in using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel will be essential for visualizing data and sharing it with diverse audiences. - Supply Chain Technical Assistance:
The candidate will provide hands-on support to health supply chain teams at both national and regional levels. This includes facilitating workshops and training sessions to build local capacity in supply chain management. The candidate will assist in the design, testing, and refinement of innovative tools and approaches that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health supply chains, such as demand forecasting, inventory management, and distribution planning. - Risk Management:
The candidate will be responsible for identifying potential risks that could impact project timelines or outcomes. This involves developing risk mitigation strategies, such as contingency plans, and working closely with the project team to implement them. Regular risk assessments will be conducted to ensure proactive management of any emerging issues. - Business Development and Market Intelligence:
The candidate will actively contribute to business development by conducting market research to identify new opportunities for inSupply Health. They will gather insights on market trends, client needs, and competitive dynamics, helping to inform business strategies. The candidate will also support the development of proposals, concept notes, and pitch presentations for new business opportunities. - Administrative and Operational Support:
The candidate will support the logistical planning of workshops, meetings, and training sessions, ensuring that all events run smoothly. This includes booking venues, coordinating travel arrangements, preparing materials, and documenting minutes and action points from meetings. They will also assist in monitoring the implementation of supply chain improvement strategies at the local level, ensuring alignment with project goals. - Knowledge Management and Learning:
The candidate will document and share project insights, best practices, and lessons learned to contribute to inSupply Health’s knowledge base. They will facilitate internal learning sessions, ensuring that knowledge gained from one project informs the design and implementation of future projects. This role will also involve writing blogs, case studies, or abstracts to share learnings with the wider supply chain community. - Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
The candidate will work with the technical team to explore and implement innovative solutions to complex supply chain challenges. This includes piloting new tools, processes, and technologies, collecting feedback, and adapting solutions based on results. They will embrace a culture of continuous learning and improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of supply chain interventions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Public Health, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in supply chain management, with a preference for experience in the health sector or private pharmacy supply chain management.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with proficiency in software such as Power BI, Tableau, or Advanced Excel.
- Experience working with public health systems and supply chain innovations in Tanzania and the region is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrating an ability to build partnerships and influence key stakeholders.
- A demonstrated ability to contribute to new business development efforts, including proposal writing and market analysis.
- A willingness to travel extensively (30%-40%) within Tanzania and occasionally within the region.
