Here’s where you come in:

As the Project Manager, you will lead a World Bank funded humanitarian response project implemented in South Sudan. You will provide oversight of implementation, quality and technical strategies for all project objectives and outputs. You will ensure accurate implementation according to set minimum standards and in alignment with the approved proposal/ contracting measures and donor regulation, ensuring all activities are implemented in time and according to budgets and detailed implementation plan (DIP). You will ensure the visibility of the project in a commonly agreed on visibility framework to relevant stakeholders and public.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum qualification in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Water and Environmental Engineering and Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma project planning and management.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in infrastructure works or in Water and/or Sanitation Project implementation. And 3 years’ experience in fragile context programming.
  • Experience supervising construction teams/ contractors in water supply and sanitation construction works.
  • Skills in project management, including managing resources, and financial and budget planning
  • Experience and skills in community mobilization participatory, sanitation and hygiene community behaviour Change Management (CLTS, PHAST, CHEST).
  • Quality Assessment and Quality Control procedures for technical projects.
  • Based in Warrap. Ability to work in a hardship posting under stressful circumstances.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
