Job Summary- Overall Purpose
The Program Officer will support the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and Gender Justice Coordinator in implementing Faith to Action’s Action Network SRH portfolio. The position is based in Nairobi, Kenya. The Program Officer will contribute to monitoring projects, coordinating advocacy initiatives, and building capacity among network members. Applicants should have 4+ years of experience in SRHR or gender justice fields, with proficiency in project implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Implementation
• Participate and assist in developing work plans for SRHR and gender justice projects.
• Work with implementing and consortium partners to deliver project activities.
• Ensure that the Quarterly, Monthly & Weekly plans and budgets are in place to guide effective project delivery.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of SRHR and Gender Justice project activities in line with approved proposals, budgets, and action plans.
• In Liaison with finance, track project implementation expenditure levels and manage work plans and budgets within the expected thresholds.
• Track activity implementation with partners and participate in follow-up meetings.
• Assist in providing technical support to partner organizations, including coordinating external technical assistance when needed.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and community organizations.
• Support the monitoring of project outputs and provide feedback to implementing partners.
• Assist with coordination, logistics and administrative tasks related to project implementation.
• Collaborate with the finance team to monitor project budget utilization.
Advocacy, Engagement with strategic partners, Linkages and networks & partnership development
• Contribute to advocacy efforts at the national and sub-national levels to promote SRHR and gender justice.
• Support partnerships with civil society organizations and community leaders to enhance collaboration toward SRHR and gender justice objectives.
Support Capacity Building initiatives
• Facilitate project support meetings and field visits with partners and stakeholders.
• Assist in initiatives to strengthen the capacity of healthcare systems and providers.
• Support training sessions for project participants, staff, and partners on SRHR and gender justice.
Monitoring, Reporting, and documentation
• Ensures participatory monthly data collection are conducted involving partners and other stakeholders using the standardized tools, working closely with M& E Team
• Assist in preparing project reports, including activity, quarterly, and annual reports in line with reporting guidelines.
• Document and disseminate success stories and best practices
• Ensure that reporting aligns with donor agreements and F2AN’s policies.
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities to assess project outcomes.
• Participate in documenting lessons learned and sharing knowledge with partners.
Program Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
• Work with other program areas, including youth-focused and gender-based violence initiatives.
• Contribute to fostering partnerships with youth-led and women-led organizations.
• Attend relevant meetings and contribute to project reviews.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align project implementation with F2AN’s strategies.
Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience in SRHR and/or Gender justice programs.
• Experience collaborating with partners and in participatory action planning.
• Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
• Demonstrated skills in group training, Training of Trainers and development of training materials.
• Effective communication skills and proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).
• Experience working in diverse and collaborative environments.
