Here’s where you come in:
As Country Security and Safety Manager, you will ensure that effective security and safety measures for World Vision Sudan programs and operations are appropriately planned for and addressed within the national context. You will need to have an understanding of the complexity of the operating context and manage security and safety risks to an acceptable level so as ensure that WV programs can be delivered effectively and safely. You will also expected to provide leadership and manage any Field Security & Safety Officers and/or Focal points in country. Additionally you will lead in the optimisation of organizational security and safety and the mitigation of operational risks for program effectiveness by establishing security and safety systems and mechanisms for institutionalizing an organisational culture and practice of safety and security.
Requirements include:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Strategic Studies, International Relations or Emergency Management, or other management discipline
- Relevant Master’s or other advanced degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Strategic Studies, International Relations, or Emergency Management. Or other management discipline
- At least 5 years of work-related experience in the professional safety, resilience, and safety arena.
- Working knowledge of INGO security practices with proven experience in threat and risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis management in the humanitarian context
- Direct application of security and risk management framework within complex NGO operating and organizational environments
- Understanding of implementing Core Security Requirements, Minimum Operating Safety Standard,s or equivalent.
- Strong spoken & written English skills.
- Based in Sudan. Must be willing and able to travel in country
