THE OPPORTUNITY

Plan International Ghana is looking to recruit an experienced and qualified professional to join its ranks as Project Accounts Coordinator to provide technical oversight and expertise on two of its projects namely the Rooting for Change Project and the Digital Skills Centre Project.

ABOUT YOU

The Project Accounts Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day activities of planning, managing, coordinating, and superintending operations, support, monitoring and reporting tasks required for the implementation of the Team Up Project on Rooting for Change and Digital Skills Centre projects respectively.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Project Accounts Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited the following areas:

  1. Prepares financial and other reports to aid the preparation of the Rooting for Change and Digital Skills Center Projects financial reports for dissemination and decision making.
  2. Budget preparation and Budgetary Control Support for the effective implementation of the Rooting for Change Project and Digital Skills Centre financial plan.
  3. Operates the Plan International Operations software to meet Plan’s pending and financial reporting requirement.
  4. Implement Internal Financial Controls and Payment Processes for the attainment of value for money at all times.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

The required skills and competencies for the candidate are:

Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree in Accounting or its equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge in SAP Accounting software would be an added advantage
  • Show strong understanding and knowledge of Cash Flows, Budgetary Controls and Compliance with Finance Controls.
  • Fair knowledge in Project Management.

  • Good Accounting, Analytical and Judgement Skills
  • Good Supervisory and Coordination Skills
  • Flexible, able to shift directions quickly and occasionally work long hours to meet tight reporting deadlines.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

The Project Accounts Coordinator will work in a dynamic environment, coordinating with internal teams, external vendors, and technology partners.

LEVEL OF CONTACT WITH CHILDREN

Low contact- the job responsibilities of this position does not require the post holder to have frequent contact with children. There would be occasional contact with children and it is expected that children shall be protected at all times.

Plan International is an international organisation or development which works in 51 countries across Africa, the Americas, and Asia to promote the safeguarding of children.It is a nonprofit organisation and is one of the world's largest organisations based on children, it works in 58,000 communities with the help of volunteers to improve how 56 million children live. The charity also has 21 national organisations who have been given the responsibility to oversee the raising of funds and awareness in their individual countries.
