The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of ONE YEAR. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Nairobi, Kenya (KE) .The position is paid according to SG6.
The aim of the position is to ensure the accurate and timely processing of transactions and administrative data within the global WHH administrative hub (Shared Service Center), contributing to efficient service delivery, operational quality and the effective functioning of Hub operations.
Your responsibilities
- Process accounting transactions based on supporting documentation received through established workflow
- Ensure timely and accurate booking of financial documents
- Ensure required supporting documentation is availabe for processing acitivities
- Liaise with finance colleagues across Country Offices to resolve processing issues and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items
- Perform account reconcilliation activities
- Maintain proper electronic filling and documentation of accounting records
- Work effectively within a changing operational environment, intergrating new processes and responsibilities as additional operational activities are progressively intergarated into the Hub
- Support compliance with internal controls, procedures and audit requirements
- Contributte to the smooth functioning of the Hub by workng collaboratively and identifying opportunities for improvement
Your profile
- A holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
- CPA (K) Finalist with at least 3 years of progressive professional experience.
- Experience in an international NGO and understanding of international donor regulations is preferred.
- Audit experience is an added advantage.
- Strong accounting skills, including management of general ledgers, journal entries, payables and balance sheets.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
