Society for Family Health (SFH) is a South African affiliate of Population Services International (PSI), an international NGO network operational in over 70 countries. SFH in South Africa concentrates on issues of HIV/ AIDS. As part of their HIV/AIDS control efforts, SFH is using social marketing to motivate behaviour change with respect to consistent condom use, HIV testing and other safer behaviours.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Update and maintain Payroll Records
- Load information for new employees onto monthly payroll schedule specifying the salaries and benefits contributions as received from the HR Administrator.
- Process and manage any staff deductions relating to the payroll such as garnishees, fleet related costs; any other staff liability repayments, preparing accounting transactions and preparing reports for management.
- Ensure payroll records are updated when staff leave SFH. Confirm with GL and Exist form any staff liability before processing final pay-out
- Payroll Processing
- Process all monthly payroll reports
- Ensure Payroll records are maintained accurately and confidential
- Print out payslips and distribute accordingly within the allocated time frame
- Adhere to relevant South African payroll statutory laws in line with SFH remuneration and benefits
- Submission of monthly Statutory payments, PAYE, UIF, Workmen’s Compensation; Dept. of Stats submissions and periodic reconciliations
- Assist to perform internal audit of monthly finance files and annual internal audit of HR files
- Accurate enrolment, transmission and any required termination to the benefit providers of all new and existing hires
- Annual tax returns:
- Adhere to the annual financial tax year and maintain the proof of submission with SARS
- Print out and distribute IRP 5’s to all SFH staff
- Other finance duties:
- Work with the Finance team to ensure payroll flows in line with the GL, payroll journals and capturing of relevant financial transactions on Lawson.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12
- Payroll related qualification is compulsory or equivalent
- Knowledge and application of advanced excel is a requirement
- Minimum 5 years previous payroll administration experience specifically in VIP
- Familiar will all VIP modules
