Welcome to The Carpenter's Shop The Carpenter’s Shop has been offering services to the homeless and unemployed for over 35 years. We offer comprehensive social care support to the homeless in the City Bowl through free ablutions, case work an referrals and weekly Primary health care clinics. We also offer dignified and inexpensive accommodation for 40 previously unemployed men to help them get back on their feet. Our flagship social enterprise, The Car Wash, offers professional car washing and valeting for the public at competitive prices. Unemployed people are trained and placed in commercial car washes with the aim of earning a minimum of R 3500 per month.The Car Wash The Car Wash is our flagship social entrepreneurship programme. It was established in 2012. It provides training to unskilled and unemployed people. Your car will be washed by individuals who have successfully completed our thorough training course.
