SFP runs a project based in Bethel and serves more-than-hundred Ethiopian children whose parents have died or are incapacitated by HIV/AIDS, other disabilities, or poverty. SFP would like to invite qualified and competent applicants for the Finance and Admin vacant position.
Position Summary:
The Enrichment Social Worker is responsible for coordinating enrichment programs, managing pathways to independence for our families and serving as technological expert to the children, youth, mothers and staff.
Duties and Responsibilities;
Financial Responsibilities
- Overall financial overseeing
- Overseeing payments
- Knowledge of all the financial issues (up to date)
- Monthly financial report- budget vs actual, bank reconciliation, to the CD
- Develop and monitoring a system that makes sure the payments/request align with the budget
- Oversee timely payment of government fees (Pension, Income Tax, PF…)
- Monitor and assist the Junior Accountant in relation to managing the daily bookkeeping and ensuring all financial records are well organized and kept in box files.
- Organizing all financial documents for audit and report.
- Finalize all financial coding and postings to Peachtree accounting software, analyze financial transactions – provide backup.
- Follow-up and control payable and receivable accounts.
- Submitting Quarterly and Annual financial reports to government agencies.
- Other tasks as needed
Admin Responsibilities
- Managing facilities of the office; cleaning, security
- Overseeing family homes in relation to maintenance and overall status
- Controlling annual and weekly leaves, sick leaves
- Timely rental payment for the office and the family houses
- Negotiating with landlords, in collaboration with the Staff, in renewing contracts
Salary and Benefits
- 7475.00 Birr Basic Salary + 1577.50 Transportation + 405 for Cell Phone Reimbursement
- 50% Medical coverage (not exceeding a month’s basic salary amount)
Employment: Full-time (five days a week)
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience:
- Second Degree in Accounting, or any related field, + 2 years of experience in related areas of work or First Degree and 3 years of experience
- -IPSAS, Peachtree understanding, training, experience
- Computer skills including Excel, Word, Internet – ability to learn new platforms
- Strong work ethic
- Good Leadership skills
- Accountable, honest, transparent and dependable
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both in written and speech [English & Amharic]
- NGO Experience is advantageous
- Experience working with different government agencies; MOFED, ChSA, WCA
- Passionate about children and youth development
