CHF has an integrated approach to meeting its mandate by providing opportunity through a unique mentoring programme for young public health interns from Nigeria and other countries to work within research projects at the nascent period of their career and mentors them until they feel secure.
Graduates from CHF mentoring program are supported to start a career in other parts of the country where they build another cell of mentoring which forms a network around the communities and under-served segments of the wider society.
CHF coordinates activities of mentees around service to communities as part of our over-arching strategy in research for policy and practice.
We also strengthen community agents of change such as Community Based Development Organizations Network (CBDO-Network) through creations of steps for reaching platforms that enable them take advantage of opportunities within and outside their communities.
CHF has used these approaches for increasing access to several interventions against common health problems including Malaria, Tuberculosis, Vitamin A Supplementation and Deworming training and Insecticide Treated Net distribution.
