CHS is currently sourcing for a high calibre, self-motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Evaluations Advisor.
Overall Job Function
The Evaluations Advisor is responsible for the execution of program evaluation activities. Working closely with the principal investigator and program directors, this position will help strengthen project data use through the design and implementation of site-level, regional and program-wide evaluation activities. The Evaluations Advisor will support the development of organization-wide evidence systems from projects to inform program implementation, and contribute to the body of knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Development, implementation and monitoring of project evaluation plans in line with donor requirements
- Lead the implement of project evaluation activities for Shinda, Naishi and Tegemeza Plus projects
- Supervise evaluation activities conducted by staff members and consultants
- Ensure that evaluations meet high professional standards in line with evaluation standards of practice
- Ensure that up-to-date evaluation techniques are applied across the organization
- Ensure evaluation findings and recommendations are disseminated to project teams
- Ensure evaluation recommendations inform the design, strategy and implementation of projects and new programs
- Develop evaluation-related policies, procedures, guidance, systems and tools
- Develop proposals and protocols and oversee regulatory submissions to donors, ethical review entities and local institutional review boards
Person Specification
- Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, behavioral sciences, population studies/demography or public health
- Evidence of publication in peer-reviewed journals preferred
- A minimum of 5-7 years professional experience in the design, analysis, dissemination and management of evaluations relating to HIV, TB or other related infectious disease interventions in developing countries
- PEPFAR related experience would be an added advantage
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative evaluation approaches.
