World share as a group that practices sharing without border, convey love beyond nationality, race, and religion to people who are suffered from poverty and disaster. We are an NGO group that has been approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Korea, which is currently conducting group home, sponsorship, community development projects, health care projects, drinking water hygiene projects and educational support projects for orphans in 32 countries around the world.
World share is now planning to expand its projects in Ethiopia through providing support to children and Youth. The organization is aimed at improving educational opportunities of children and economic status of youth in Oromia and SNNPR regions.
The role
The Accountant and Cashier will be based in Addis Ababa and he/she will be in charge of the administrative and financial aspects of the project implemented in the Organization. He/she will be supported by the Country Director and other staffs and will work closely with the Legal Consultant in the daily management of the project. He/she will be supervised by the Country Director.
Responsibilities:
- Elaborating the petty cash and cheques payments vouchers of the project, included a supervision of partner’s petty cash and related invoices, receipts and pay sleeps, and send monthly report to country director on-time; Prepare Cheque for approval payments; Prepare Bank Reconciliation Prepare withholding tax, income tax and pension summary and government on monthly basis.
- Supporting the Administrative Department in the preparation of all the required documents, recording and filing administrative and financial project documents according to the organizations manual and the DONOR guidelines and rules(if any)
- Ensuring the correct management of human resources contracts and related procedures in the office
- Ensuring accounting records, payments and data entry within the required deadlines;
- Sending finance and administration documents to field offices,
- Making the scanning of documents every month,
- Adhere and perform all tasks finance and administration tasks according to the financial management policies and other organizational policy of the organization
- Translating administrative documents from local language to English;
- General administrative duties and office management based on the organizational policies;
- Post transactions to the Peachtree Accounting System and produce monthly report to FM
- Assist in annual audit and provide necessary information and documents to the external Auditors
- Perform three-way match in comparing invoice with purchase order and goods received note
- Ensuring that all documents are complete, with the appropriate supporting documents, reviewed and approved before processing for payment
- Ensuring that all transaction-supporting documents are complete and properly filed accordingly
- Checking payments to be made are requested as per the annual plan submitted to charity in addition following up the availability of budget and Bank balance
- Others detail duties required by the Country director

Education
- BA degree in Finance and Accounting and related fields
Working experiences
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in similar job position
- Experience with NGOs as well as international organizations is highly advantageous
Languages
- Excellent knowledge of written and oral English is mandatory which will be subjected to verification test.
Competencies
- Financial reporting abilities and knowledge of financial application of tools
- Basic computer skills on MS packages
- Excellent in applications of MS-excel and MS-Access
- Knowledge of financial application software like peach tree accounting and the like
- Accountability – takes responsibility for action and manages constructive criticisms
