Panagora Group, a woman-owned small business specializing in global health and international development, seeks an Accountant to support an anticipated Mission Support for Journey to Self-Reliance for USAID/Kenya and East Africa. This full-time position will be located in Nairobi, Kenya and is long-term. The position is contingent upon award and USAID approval.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain system to account for financial transactions using established chart of accounts, bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintain records and file documents.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Comply with United States government and local legal requirements by studying requirements, filing reports, and advising management.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- CPA certification and accountancy degree
- At least one year’s experience as an accountant
- Must be a legal resident of Kenya. S/he may be Kenyan or an expatriate already living in Kenya with a minimum of five years’ experience living and working in developing country
- Fluency in English, Kiswahili preferred
- USAID experience preferred
