We are looking for an Admin and Logistics Intern

Justdiggit is a fast-growing NGO working on large-scale landscape restoration in Africa. We are looking for an Admin and Logistics Intern to assist in the coordination and administration of transport of our staff to the field, our vehicle fleet, procurement, and office management activities.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Employment type: internship for 6 months, 32-40 hours per week

Preferred start date: 1st of May 2024

Our planet is warming up, fast. In order to keep the global temperature increase below 2°C we need to act now. Luckily, there is a solution! By implementing nature-based solutions at scale, we can cool down our planet and mitigate the worst effects of climate change.

Herein lies our purpose: we make dry land green again together with communities and farmers in Africa. We use communication and media in order to scale up. We inspire and activate people to regreen their own land, using nature-based and easy-to-apply techniques. To date, we’ve restored almost 400,000 hectares of degraded land and regenerated nearly 14 million trees. And this is just the beginning. We are on a mission to regreen Africa by 2030, and cool down our planet!

To support our efforts and increase impact, we have awareness campaigns running throughout Europe and Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Operations Officer in the coordination of on ground logistics for the team to facilitate an effective and efficient process of transporting our staff to field locations, ensuring full control of movement, and always ensuring safety.
  • Assist the Operations Officer in managing the fleet by ensuring proper recording (of logbooks, fuel consumption, work sheets etc.) whilst ensuring that all JDI vehicles are properly operated, regularly serviced and maintained, including routine analysis of vehicle usage to maximize efficiency for operations.
  • Fuel card management and reconciliations, and ensuring timely replenishment by finance.
  • Oversee the processing of fuel receipts and relevant documents, including the filing of documents/receipts, physically and electronically.
  • Assist the Operations Officer in the procurement processes.
  • Assist in booking meeting rooms in the office.
  • Assist in managing our store with technological items and ensure proper inventory.
  • Perform other logistical and administrative tasks as may be required.

WHAT WE ASK

  • A graduate of Business Administration, Procurement and Logistics or Public Administration.
  • Computer literate with experience in Excel accounting packages.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Honest and trustworthy, respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, demonstrate sound work ethics.
