The Base Manager cum Head of Field Office of Dikwa provides oversight of all the base management functions (logistics, finance, HR, security) of all the field bases, as well as general coordination with external stakeholders. He/She is responsible for ensuring smooth operations for all the field bases, identifying gaps and challenges and support means in improvement, as well as maintaining effective coordination with key stakeholders. He/She will also have oversight of the base management for the Dikwa Field Base

Oversight of Base Management for field bases

  • To lead, support and monitor the Heads of Field Office/ Field Focal Points in performing the required logistics, finance, HR and security functions of all field bases, including the management of all the field premises.
  • To act as the focal point between the field bases and relevant programme/ operational departments in ensuring effective, efficient and compliant operations
  • To lead the team in improving field operations systems, processes and coordination
  • To monitor the implementation of the INTERSOS Safeguarding Framework

B. Context and security analysis

  • To conduct regular update and analysis of humanitarian context (needs and trends) across all project locations
  • To conduct regular update and analysis of security context across all project locations

C. External Coordination and Representation

  • To ensure strong coordination and networking with key external stakeholders at the field level (e.g. local authorities, community leaders, community groups and networks, UN/INGOs/NNGOs, etc)
  • To represent INTERSOS in relevant platforms as assigned by the SMT

D. Support in field monitoring and other ad-hoc field assignments

  • To support the Head of Programme in the field monitoring of projects activities
  • To support the SMT in coordinating any ad-hoc field assignments
  • E. Team Management

To supervise and manage the team members under his/her direct responsibility (head of field-offices/ field focal points)

Professional Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in management, logistics, development, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-year relevant experience in base management, logistics, and/or coordination
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, coordination and networking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.

Organisational Requirements

  • Act as an ambassador for INTERSOS Nigeria in external coordination.
  • Adhere to all INTERSOS policies and procedures both technical and administrational.
  • Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and programmes.
