Job Description

Business Strategies analyses and development  

  • Design study framework for access to finance, private sector capacity building need identification and capacity building strategy and edible oil aggregation strategies
  • Develop data collection tools required for delivery of the project in collaboration with the other project team members
  • Lead data collection process including arrangement of logistics as required
  • Ensure timely data entry and analyses in collaboration with team members
  • Support data analyses process and design of the different strategies and reports based on project requirement

Market System Research and Intervention

  • Collaborate with team members and other projects with in TechnoServe, as well as wheat flour processors to develop market systems and strategies for fortified wheat flour
  • Identify market channels, and buyers and establish linkages between processors and buyers of fortified wheat flour
  • Support the development of marketing plans as necessary for wheat flour processors
  • Maintain constant contact with food processors and provide technical and market information
  • Collect, analyze, interpret and disseminate market information to project teams and clients
  • Undertake consumer insight survey and provide feedback to food processors

Teamwork, Management and Reporting

  • Collaborate with other project team members to leverage their existing relationships with food processors, government agencies, across various levels, agribusinesses, buyers, input suppliers, financial institutions, and other market system stakeholders for the purpose of the business research, analysis, and business strategy development
  • Lead preparation of documents and reports as needed to assist Program Manager and team with internal decision making, meetings, communications with stakeholders and partners, and reports to donor;
  • Develop presentation materials and present as necessary to stakeholders and partners
  • Submit regular report to Program Manager and support monitoring and evaluation activities;
  • Participate in regular team training activities to build own training skills, including monthly team meetings in person;

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager

Job Requirements

  • BA Degree in Business Management, Economics, or other relevant fields.
  • At least five years of experience working in one or more of the following areas: economic and/or business analysis, business strategies development, agriculture business, or related field
  • Experience in market system analysis
  • Experience in partnership development and management
  • Experience in partners’ relationship management that requires frequent communication
  • Creative problem solving skills, including a spirit of resourcefulness;
  • Excellent computer literacy, notably in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Fluency in written and spoken English
