CONTEXT

As a Business intelligence Engineer with the ICT Data & Analytics team, you will support the deployment and integration of new initiatives across the data landscape. Your responsibilities will span across contributing to the data strategy, enhancing and maintaining the cloud data engineering stack, and building robust data pipelines between applications and repositories. You’ll ensure data quality and accessibility, while supporting the team in delivering impactful data analyses and visualizations to colleagues across the organization.

With a mid-term focus on finance, you’ll collaborate closely with the Finance and Application Support Unit (FASU) to develop and maintain the budgeting application (CPM Board). This includes designing Board screens, procedures, and cubes, as well as deploying and automating Data Pipes. Working alongside another Data Engineer, your focus will be on aligning Business needs and Board screens and cubes, putting the data into stories.

As a Business intelligence Engineer with a focus on finance, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining our budgeting application (Board). You’ll work closely with a Data-Ops Engineer in a peer-based setup, ensuring mutual backup and interchangeability. While your counterpart focuses on infrastructure and automation, your emphasis will be on data analysis, gathering user requirements, and developing reports and Board screens

We are currently reshaping our data stack using cutting-edge tools like Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks to support ambitious operational projects. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain our Board Board | The Enterprise Planning Platform :
    • Support and enhance the CPM Board application (Board | The Enterprise Planning Platform) in close collaboration with the Finance and Application Support Unit (FASU) and a peer Data Engineer
    • Perform technical analysis, development, testing, deployment, and provide second-line troubleshooting.
    • Maintain and develop data pipelines to and from Board, ensuring reliable data flow and integration
    • Translate business processes into actionable Board enhancements and compelling data stories
  • Develop Fabric data pipelines, semantic models, and reports, covering the full lifecycle: specification, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and support

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent through experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Financial Data Analyst or in a similar role
  • Experience in Python (or a similar language) for data manipulation and integration

Competencies

  • Solid understanding of forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Strong command of SQL is mandatory
  • Proficiency in Power BI is mandatory
  • Strong problem-solving analytical thinking skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (Engineering) is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of Board CPM or similar Corporate Performance Management tools is a strong asset

Languages

  • Proficient level in English, both written and spoken is mandatory
  • Good knowledge of French is an asset

CONDITIONS

  • Contract type: Fixed-term contract – full-time – Homeworking possible
  • Contract duration: 2 years

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was founded in 1971 in France by a group of doctors and journalists in the wake of war and famine in Biafra. Their aim was to establish an independent organisation that focuses on delivering emergency medicine aid quickly, effectively and impartially.

Doctors Without Borders

Three hundred volunteers made up the organisation when it was founded: doctors, nurses and other staff, including the 13 founding doctors and journalists.

MSF was created in the belief that all people should have access to healthcare regardless of gender, race, religion, creed or political affiliation, and that people’s medical needs outweigh respect for national boundaries. MSF’s principles of action are described in our charter, which established a framework for our activities.

MSF's first missions

MSF’s first mission was to the Nicaraguan capital, Managua, in 1972, after an earthquake destroyed most of the city and killed between 10,000 and 30,000 people.

In 1974, MSF set up a relief mission to help the people of Honduras after Hurricane Fifi caused major flooding and killed thousands of people.

In 1975, MSF established its first large-scale medical programme during a refugee crisis, providing medical care for the waves of Cambodians seeking sanctuary from Pol Pot’s oppressive rule.

In these first missions, the weaknesses of MSF as a new humanitarian organisation became readily apparent: preparation was lacking, doctors were left unsupported and supply chains were tangled.
