Background

CAP Youth Empowerment Institute is seeking a qualified and experienced trainer to deliver Life Skills, Core Business Skills, and Digital Skills training to youth and emerging entrepreneurs in Taita Taveta County. The training aims to equip participants with practical skills that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and digital competence in the modern workplace and business environment.

Scope of Work

The consultant will be responsible for:

• Delivering Life Skills training including communication, problem solving, teamwork, self-awareness, and work readiness.
• Facilitating Core Business Skills training covering basic entrepreneurship, financial literacy, record keeping, customer relations, and business planning.
• Providing Digital Skills training such as digital communication, online productivity tools, internet safety, and introduction to digital business opportunities.
• Preparing training materials and session plans aligned with the program objectives.
• Facilitating participatory and practical training sessions for youth participants.
• Supporting pre- and post-training assessments where required.
• Submitting a brief training report upon completion of the assignment.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal consultant should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Education, ICT, Social Sciences, or related field.
• At least 3 years’ experience in training youth on life skills, entrepreneurship/business skills, and digital skills.
• Proven experience facilitating participatory training methodologies for youth.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience working with community-based youth programs will be an added advantage.

Deliverables

• Training plan and session outlines
• Delivery of the agreed training sessions within the 20-day consultancy period
• Training report summarizing activities, participation, and key outcomes
