JOB SUMMARY:

As the Cash Consortium Coordinator, you will oversee the CVA (Cash Voucher Assistance) portfolio under the Cash Consortium of Sudan (CCS), funded by multiple donors including the United States Bureau for Humanitarian Affairs (BHA), ECHO, SDC, FCDO, and more. This project aims to provide Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance and other forms of cash and voucher assistance to crisis-affected and vulnerable communities, primarily women and girls, across Sudan.

The position holder is expected to manage approximately 7-10 million USD portfolio per year but could change depending on funding availability. The project seeks to provide lifesaving cash assistance to more than 60,000 people, primarily women and girls.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Management: Lead and manage the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the CCS program, ensuring targets and objectives are met and donor requirements are adhered to.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support CVA project staff, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Provide capacity building and performance management.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage a portfolio of approximately $7-10 million USD annually, ensuring budget compliance and financial integrity.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Ensure MEAL plans are operational, lead grant revisions and donor reporting, and document and share lessons learned.
  • External Coordination: Build and maintain relationships with communities, local authorities, and partner organizations, representing CARE at key meetings and coordination fora.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree in social science, Technology/Engineering, Health, Development, Humanitarian, Project Management, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in humanitarian and/or development fields, with at least 5 years in CVA management.
  3. At least 5 years’ experience in CVA management combined with staff management, with additional experience in any of the following other areas; Gender, WASH, Health, and Nutrition.
  4. Management skills & experience, including line management, management of other resources, evidence of capacity to support others.
  5. Demonstrable experience managing budgets over $5 million USD.
  6. Strong management and organizational skills, with a commitment to gender equality and diversity.
  7. Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to CARE’s values and code of conduct.
