Here’s where you come in:

As Chief of Party, USAID Regional Resilience Activity for Sahel – Burkina Faso, Chad, & Mauritania, you will be accountable for the overall vision and leadership of the Regional Resilience Activity and is accountable for delivering results. The successful candidate will manage project staff, consortium partners and/or sub-partners to ensure project deliverables are on-time and within budget. You will be responsible for program compliance, ensuring all program activities are in accordance with USAID and WVI rules and regulations.

This position is contingent upon funding and donor approval.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in similar position for Leader with Associate awards (LWA) or projects with similar magnitude and complexity, involving multiple country programs, preferably in resilience, economic growth, climate change, food security and/or nutrition is highly desired.
  • Advanced degree required in international development, economics, agriculture, or other related field of study related to the project.
  • Proven exceptional leadership as CoP in the design, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of similar-sized multi-country programs, with skills in strategic planning and thinking, management, supervision and budgeting, and experience managing complex activities involving coordination with multiple program partner institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the Sahel region (Burkina Faso, Chad, and/or Mauritania), preferably in resilience, economic growth, climate change, food security and/or nutrition is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of USAID regulations and policies; experience managing complex contracts and agreements, USAID’s operating procedures, regulations, and reporting requirements is required.
  • Ability to travel 35% in Sahel Region as required.
  • Fluency in oral and written English. Proficiency in French.
