Position: Community Development Worker – THRIVE Project

Reporting to: Development Facilitator

Location: Mpika (1) and Kasama (1)

Purpose of the position:

Facilitate community engagement by ensuring that all registered project participants actively participate in project interventions at Participant Implementation Units (Unit). Work with Development Facilitator (DF), community-level partners that include project volunteers to monitor project performance at the project participant level. The CDW will also ensure that monitoring data is updated on all THRIVE data repository systems according to the required minimum standards.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure and support project participant mobilisation to participate in the project intervention
  • Ensure collaborative Partner / community volunteer engagement
  • Ensure project participant profile is updated and gives a true reflection of the project participant
  • Capture accurate and consistent data from the field.
  • Monitoring of data collection and updating the THRIVE repository systems
  • Submit Impact reports/stories for respectively.
  • Facilitate project participants reflective meetings
  • Capture accurate and consistent data from the field.
  • Represent the project in various local agriculture community forums as may be necessary
  • Any other technical duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Diploma in Diploma in Agriculture / Agribusiness, Degree Agriculture/Agribusiness is added advantage.
  • 2-3 work experience in similar environment/role
  • Experience in community mobilization and engagement
  • Good Facilitation and capacity building skills
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of horticulture production
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in Saving group methodologies
  • Experience working with survey data. i.e Data collection
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft word, excel and power point)
  • Adaptive and willing to work in a rural set up.
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal relations.
  • Must have a good understanding of the Agribusiness System
  • Must have an understanding of World Vision mission, vision and core values.
  • Experience with operations of the local/district systems particularly Agriculture/Agribusiness programmes is added advantage
  • Must be a valid licensed Motor/vehicle bike rider

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: 20%Office/ 80% field -based
