POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION	Newlands, Cape Town
EMPLOYMENT TYPE	Fixed term contract, 5 months
START DATE	ASAP
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS	Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
EXPERIENCE	Experience in community demand creation, HIV, sales preferred
SALARY RANGE	Market Related – To be discussed

Inherent requirements of the position:

• Out going personality, will be required to engage with diverse population groups
• Self-starter
• Good people skills
• Non-judgmental, trustworthy and empathetic personality
• Committed and motivated to preventing HIV, STI’s and TB
• Ability to communicate in multiple South African languages (English, Afrikaans, Xhosa are preferred)
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the Cape Metro area
• Ability to work non-traditional hours which may include weekends from time to time
• Valid drivers’ license and own transport will be an added advantage
• Key population groups / LGBT friendly

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Conduct demand creation for HIV testing services and HIV self-screening
• Distribute IEC materials to target population groups
• Engage with formal and informal employers to generate demand for services among their employees
• Support referrals to HIV testing services
• Obtain an informed and written consent for HIV self-screening
• Participation in staff meetings and appropriate training workshops
• Data collection and compilation of monthly report forms as required
• Provide HIV prevention education and information in group sessions
• Detect and report barriers to HIV, STI and TB health seeking behaviour
• Distribute HIV self-screening kits to adults following informed consent
• Adhere to all CareWorks Demand Creation standard operating procedures and the general company policies
