Evidence Action is a global non-profit organization dedicated to scaling evidence-based and cost-effective programs to reduce the burden of poverty. Evidence Action is currently seeking a qualified research/data collection firm to support the Baseline Assessment for Immunization Demand Generation (IDG) in Oyo and Nasarawa States, Nigeria.

The selected firm will serve as the data collection partner and will be responsible for implementing the approved research design and sampling framework, recruiting and training field teams, conducting field data collection, and ensuring high-quality and secure data management.

Scope of the Assignment

The selected firm will be responsible for:

  • Recruiting, training, and supervising enumerators and field teams.
  • Supporting instrument contextualization, translation/back-translation, piloting, and field preparation as required.
  • Conducting household census and household surveys across selected communities.
  • Conducting surveys in selected health facilities and facility catchments.
  • Collecting information on childhood immunization, including verification of vaccination status through vaccination cards and caregiver recall.
  • Collecting data on immunization knowledge, attitudes, behaviours, vaccine confidence, social and behavioural drivers, and barriers to vaccination.
  • Collecting relevant information on nutrition and SQ-LNS awareness and use.
  • Supporting the collection of social network data from community ambassadors, where applicable.
  • Managing field logistics, respondent recruitment, sampling, and deployment.
  • Implementing data quality assurance processes, including supervision, spot checks, daily monitoring, and first-level data cleaning.
  • Ensuring secure and timely transmission of data using SurveyCTO.
  • Providing regular fieldwork and data quality reports.

The assessment will cover 10 LGAs across Oyo and Nasarawa States, with approximately 3,000 caregivers targeted for household surveys and 50 implementing health facilities targeted for facility surveys.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Interested firms should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience conducting large-scale household and/or health facility surveys in Nigeria.
  • Experience collecting childhood immunization-related data, including verification of children’s ages and immunization status.
  • Experience working with caregivers and respondents in local languages.
  • Strong capacity in enumerator recruitment, training, supervision, and field logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience using SurveyCTO or similar digital data collection platforms.
  • Strong data quality assurance, field monitoring, and data management capacity.
  • Experience with social network data collection is an advantage.
  • Preference may be given to firms based in Oyo or Nasarawa States.

Duration and Location

The assignment will be implemented across selected LGAs and communities in Oyo and Nasarawa States, Nigeria. Field activities are expected to take place from October to November 2026, subject to the applicable ethics and regulatory approvals.
