The International Potato Center is seeking a consultant to support a project in seed potato production in Egypt.

Duration of the assignment: From: End of January 2019 To: End of April 2019

Place of execution (country/city): Egypt 45 to 60 working days

Deliverable:

  • (1) a diagnostic study on the status of seed availability, access and quality in Egypt.
  • (2) an economic feasibility study for producing seed potato in Egypt.
  • (3) a plan for production of potato seed in Egypt.

Selection criteria:

  • PhD level degree in Agricultural Economics or closely related discipline.
  • Strong experience of at least 10-15 years in international context (developing countries). on potato seed systems, especially economic analysis.
  • Experience in conducting economic feasibility studies.
  • Excellent writing skills in English • Fluency in English is required.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work under field conditions.

Conditions:

The consultant contract is subject to award acquisition or funding.
